16 Sep 2018 Professionally operated entertaining race - 2018 Pan Delta Super Racing Festival closes
2018 Pan Delta Super Racing Festival – Autumn Race cancels its races on its last day due to Super Typhoon Mangkhut. Thus Pan Delta season is over and the series champions of each class are determined.
Although the Super Typhoon is already on the way, but in the races on 15 September (Saturday), thousands of race fans still came to the circuit for the Pan Delta finale from all corners of the country. Exciting races, beautiful race models and colourful commercial area activities, make this 2018 finale before the typhoon even more passionate.
Multiple races demonstrate platform value
This year Pan Delta has many attractions. As the nucleus of the entire racing festival, many high level races have joined Pan Delta, enriching the race program enormously. For the Autumn Race, after the introduction of MINI Asia Challenge early this year, Greater Bay Area Lotus Cup series also joined in. As a newly created race series, it brings Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau drivers together and race in identical “thoroughbred” Lotus race cars. The addition of the Greater Bay Area Lotus Cup series is a clear statement that the motorsport industry approves the Pan Delta race management. Since last year, the addition of FRD LMP3 series, MINI Asia Challenge and Greater Bay Area Lotus Cup have proved the commercial value of the Pan Delta platform.
Pan Delta’s own races have not been left behind either. 2018 Pan Delta Circuit Hero have gone through wholesale changes, while Speed Hero race series is upgraded from ZIC Superbike series with its own IP. After a year’s development, both race series have improved significantly. With more fair classifications and technical regulations, the competition in the various classes of Circuit Hero race series have become more fierce and the races are more exciting. More competition, more exciting races, attracting more drivers and race cars into the race series. The three races in Spring, Summer and Autumn have received more entries, bringing more vibrancy to the event.
Star attractions
Motorsport is a passionate sport. It is inseparable with star drivers. Pan Delta is a grassroot race event, it works on creating its own stars while it also attracts international level stars. Former F1 test driver Adderly Fong, Le Mans 24 Hours driver Alexandre Imperatori are two such examples, both of them have high praises for Pan Delta Circuit Hero race series and have integrated themselves into the Pan Delta family. While Pan Delta’s own stars such as Huang Shi-Zhao, He Wei-Hang, Kuang Can-Wei and Chen Bing-Xiong all have their own loyal fan base, each one of them has become a true Circuit Hero.
This year’s Pan Delta Autumn Race has seen a lot of professional drivers taking part and added a lot of entertainment elements. Mega star Jimmy Lin has arrived on the scene at ZIC. As the boss of PTRS, Jimmy Lin leads his team to great results in the LMP3 series. Off the track, he also attracts a lot of attention. Activities such as live webcast, fans meeting and 25th anniversary souvenir sales go on continuously, bringing entertainment to an already excitement filled motorsport weekend.
Service upgrade
As a grassroot race event, Pan Delta and its Circuit Hero race series have always insisted on putting fans and race teams at its centre. ZIC will utilize most advanced international experience in the races, in order to ensure exciting, fair, balanced and low threshold races. For 2018 Pan Delta introduced one make tyres which reduced the costs of participation enormously while ensuring professional tyre technology and data service for all, paving the way for teams to become even more professional. Circuit Hero race series also introduced an engine oil partner, providing teams without an engine oil sponsor with engine oil. The arrangement at the same time provides a platform for auto product businesses to showcase their products and reduces the costs of participation for the teams. A win-win situation for all.
A professional platform for drivers yearning for more professionalism and reducing costs for entry level drivers. The series of changes for Circuit Hero paved a clear path of promotion for the race series. Such changes not only attract more amateur drivers but also professional drivers are finding it attractive. The strong platform means sponsors are looking for better results. For professional drivers the entertaining platform bring a better racing experience for them. This is difficult to achieve by other professional races.
With Super Typhoon Mangkhut closing in, 2018 Pan Delta Super Racing Festival regrettably has to close one day early. But the typhoon cannot blow away the crowd’s desire for Pan Delta races. Rain cannot dampen the fans passion for the race. We congratulate all the winning drivers. See you at Pan Delta next March!
