At 14:30 on 5 January 2019, Speed Hero 3 Hours Endurance Race hold its qualifying sesson. Dainese Lash Racing #99 Jack Ao Ieong Fu/Mak Chi-Chong/Ao Ieong Hou takes the pole position with a result of 1:36.977. Dan Kruger Racing #71 Dan Kruger/Wu Rong-Zhi is second overall with a result of 1:38.352. ACE Motorcycle #65 Karl Roe/Richard Culpin is third overall with a result of 1:40.784. Hongyuan Racing #77 Li Hong/Yuan Ji-Bo/Ma Sai are fourth overall, result 1:41.034.

In the morning of the qualifying session, there is a slight drizzle in Zhuhai, although there is no rain on the track it is still wet. Track temperature is 20 degrees C while air temperature is 19 degrees C. The race officials shows the Wet Track notice board but most teams go for dry weather tyres.

2019 Speed Hero 3 Hours Endurance Race qualifying session is held right on time at 14:30, #99 manages a fastest lap on lap 3 at 1:36.977 and is on provisional pole position. From second to fifth positions are #71, #77, #24 and #65 respectively. From lap 5 onwards, bikes begin to return to the pits for a change of rider.

After half the session is over, #99 rides into the sandtrap at turn 1, but both rider and bike are able to continue. On lap 14, #77 improves its fastest lap time to 1:41.034, then #65 does a 1:40.784 and gets ahead. Near the end of qualifying, #71 enters the fray for a last minute dash, they manages a 1:38.532 and takes second position.

Qualifying session is over. #99, #71, #65 are the top 3 in CL1 class and will line up on the first row of the grid in the main race tomorrow (6 Jan). #77, #68 and #19 are the top 3 in CL2 class and they will line up on row 2 of the grid.
