14 Jun 2019 Adderly Fong won pole position by a small margin – Circuit Hero Qualifying

In the afternoon of 14 June, Zhuhai International Circuit is enjoying good weather. The fine track conditions provide a great platform for the drivers to perform. Zun Motorsport Crew #38 Adderly Fong takes pole position with a 1:35.285 lap, 0.11 second quicker than his teammate #77 Ma Ka-Chun. Grid Motorsport driver #63 Steven Bei is third.

Circuit Hero, which is largely made up of GT race cars, has a 20 minute qualifying session, with 17 cars competing. The session officially begins at 15:35. After 3 laps, Zun Motorsport Crew’s Ma Ka-Chun and Adderly Fong take over the top 2 places with large margins. Tianshi Racing #99 David Chan Wei-An loses control at turn 1 and the race officials shows the red flag to stop the session. The race cars return to the pit lane area. The session re-starts at 15:47, #63 Steven Bei of Grid Motorsport put in two laps of 1:36.381 and 1:35.953, overtaking #7 Lin Yi-Ming for third position, breaking Zun Motorsport Crew’s stranglehold on the top 3 positions. Later on, Adderly Fong sets a 1:35.285 fastest lap and takes pole position.

In the end, Zun Motorsport Crew #38 Adderly Fong takes pole position, #77 Ma Ka-Chun is second with Grid Motorsport #63 Steven Bei in third position, 0.558 second behind. Zun Motorsport Crew #7 Lin Yi-Ming, Tianshi Racing #99 David Chen Wei-An and #21 Wang Hao are fourth to sixth.
