On 23 March, Pan Delta Super Racing Festival Spring Race officially begins. In the Circuit Hero-One qualifying session held in the afternoon, TRC Racing #48 Li Zhao-Hua takes pole position, Dongfeng Honda Racing Team #77 Pattarapol Vongprai and Champ X T.A. Motorsport’s #26 Filipe Souza are second and third on the grid.
For 2019, Pan Delta has changed its race format, Circuit Hero-One has removed GT cars from its ranks and become a 2.0T race series. The competition among drivers is therefore more fierce.
At 15:00 in the afternoon, Circuit Hero-One qualifying officially begins. After just one lap, one of the race cars slides off the circuit at turn 11. The race organizers show the red flag to stop the session.
After a few minutes the session is resumed. At this time TRC Racing’s #99 Terence Tse, #27 Li Jia-Xi, #48 Li Zhao-Hua dominate the top 3 positions.
Afterwards, only Li Zhao-Hua remains in the top 3 while other teams take up second and third places. As the session draws to a close, suddenly a few race cars spin off the circuit at turn 14. The race organizers shows the red flag again and the qualifying session is unavoidably stopped.
In the end, with non-stop incidents occurring, TRC Racing #48 Li Zhao-Hua takes the pole position with a 1:57.512 lap time. Dongfeng Honda Racing Team #77 Pattarapol Vongprai and Champ X T.A Motorsport #26 Filipe Souza are in second and third places. All three drivers set laps that are under 1:58 seconds. In such poor weather conditions, the results are considered very good. The small gap among the drivers suggest that the race tomorrow will be very hard to call and spectacular.
