14 Sep 2019 David Chen takes first win of the season as Adderly Fong retires after accident

On 14 September, Pan Delta Super Racing Festival – Autumn Race officially begins. In the Circuit Hero race held in the afternoon, Tianshi Racing #99 David Chen takes overall victory ahead of Zun Motorsport Crew #77 Ma Ka-Chun, while Grid Motorsport #63 Steven Bei finishes in third place.

Zhuhai is still a very hot place despite now being autumn. The track temperature is over 60 degree C and the track is in excellent condition. At 14:10 in the afternoon, Circuit Hero race officially begins. Pole position starter David Chen is overtaken by Adderly Fong, but as Adderly enters turn 1, he is hit by #7 Lin Yi-Ming who comes up on the grass on the inside. Adderly Fong’s car suffers a puncture and is pushed off the circuit, he has no choice but to retire from the race. David Chen fortunately avoids the chaos and re-takes the lead. Behind him are #77 Ma Ka-Chun and #63 Steven Bei.

On lap 3, #7 Lin Yi-Ming is penalized a drive-through penalty for re-joining the circuit in an unsafe manner. Lin Yi-Ming takes his penalty on lap 4 in the pit lane and he re-joins the race in 6th position.

On lap 7, race leader David Chen begins to lap backmarkers. He uses the backmarkers to defend and extend his lead. On the last lap, second placed Ma Ka-Chun is already more than 5 seconds behind.

In the end, Tianshi Racing #99 David Chen takes overall victory for the first time this season. Zun Motorsport Crew #77 Ma Ka-Chun finishes second, Grid Motorsport #63 Steven Bei takes third.

In the various classes, Circuit Hero Supercar Challenge top 2 are Zun Motorsport Crew #77 Ma Ka-Chun and #7 Lin Yi-Ming；Circuit Hero Supercar A class top 2 are Tianshi Racing #99 David Chen and Grid Motorsport #63 Steven Bei； Circuit Hero Supercar B1 class top 3 are #27 Yu Kam-Cheong, Team Master Champ #72 Yuan Er-Bin and #94 Kelvin Kwan； Circuit Hero Supercar B2 top 3 are #26 Pat Wong, Team Master Champ #55 Lin Li-Fengand TRC #22 Terence Tse；finally Circuit Hero Supercar C class top 2 are Zun Motorsport Crew #21 Wang Hao and Grid Motorsport #2 Michael Choi.

After the race, David Chen said today’s race is rather short and helaments Adderly Fong’s retirement at turn 1. Tomorrow the reverse grid is not a small challenge for him, he hopes to get a top 3 result again.

Steven Bei said, he has always been careful at turn 1 and braked early, thus avoidingtheaccident.

The race tomorrow will see a reverse grid, adding more variables to the final race of the season. Don’t miss it!
