15 Jun 2019 Exciting race ends with Steven Bei taking his first victory – Circuit Hero Race 3

On 15 June, Pan Delta Super Racing Festival – Summer Race officially begins. In the qualifying session yesterday, Zun Motorsport Crew #38 Adderly Fong claimed pole position with 1:35.285, beating his teammate #77 Ma Ka-Chun by 0.11 second. Grid Motorsport #63 Steven Bei lines up in third place. 

After a long period of rain in the Guangdong province, today is a fine day, giving the drivers more confidence. At 13:10, the race officially begins.

Right at the start, Grid Motorsport #63 Steven Bei makes a quick getaway and moves into the lead. Zun Motorsport Crew #38 Adderly Fong is in second place while Tianshi Racing #99 David Chen moves up to third. At turn 12, Steven Bei has already opened up a 2 seconds gap with #38. Zun Motorsport Crew #77 Ma Ka-Chun was running in fourth place but went off the track at turn 14, allowing his teammate #7 Lin Yi-Ming to move up to fourth place and begins to attack #99 David Chen. Ma Ka-Chun is down to ninth place.

On lap 2, Steven Bei sets the fastest lap time of the race 1:36.286 and he is going faster and faster as he extends his lead. On lap 3, Ma Ka-Chun goes up to sixth place. At this time, #99 David Chen and #7 Lin Yi-Ming begin to battle on track for third place. Finally on lap 5, Lin Yi-Ming passes David Chen at turn 9.

In the second half of the race, #77 Ma Ka-Chun picks up his pace and passes #21 Wang Hao on lap 8. #38 Adderly Fong also does the same and makes a 1:37.864 fastest lap, shortening the gap between himself and leader Steven Bei to 3 seconds. But the race is near the end and there is not enough time for Adderly Fong to overturn the situation.

In the end, Steven Bei crosses the line to take the overall win. Adderly Fong finishes second overall, 2 seconds behind. His teammate Lin Yi-Ming is third overall while #99 David Chen finishes fourth. Ma Ka-Chun in the end climbs back to fifth position.

For the various classes, Circuit Hero Supercar Challenge top 3 are：Zun Motorsport Crew #7 Lin Yi-Ming, #77 Ma Ka-Chun and Tianshi Racing #39 Li Yin-Han; Circuit Hero Supercar A class top 3 are：Grid Motorsport #63 Steven Bei, Zun Motorsport Crew #38 Adderly Fong and the only female racer of this race #89 Naomi Zhang. In Circuit Hero Supercar B1 class, top 3 are：#27 Yu Kam-Cheong, Grid Motorsport #5 Wu Guo-Xian, Tianshi Racing #19 Zhu Yue; Circuit Hero Supercar B2 class top 3 are：#26 Pat Wong, #22 Rolly Sham and Team Master Champ #55 Lin Li-Feng；Circuit Hero class Tianshi Racing #99 David Chen and Zun Motorsport Crew #21 Wang Hao.

Adderly Fong said after the race that as he is preparing to take part in an international GT race, so his car is running in BOP form with added weight. Therefore he is unable to accelerate fully on the straights. Hopefully in tomorrow’s race he can get on form early tomorrow.

Circuit Hero Race 4 will be held at 14:20 on 16 June at Zhuhai International Circuit. According to weather forecasts, there will be rain tomorrow, so the race conditions might become unpredictable again.
