25 Mar 2019 Hong Kong Touring Car Championship and Hong Kong Motorcycle Championship & HKAA 100th Anniversary Memorial Cup successfully held at Pan Delta Spring Race

On 24 March 2019, Pan Delta Super Racing Festival – Spring Race is successfully completed. Although the rain persisted, Circuit Hero, Circuit Hero-One, Circuit Hero-Two, Circuit Hero-Three and Speed Hero all held their races as planned.

There is a special arrangement for this season. Hong Kong Automobile Association’s (HKAA) Hong Kong Touring Car Championship and Hong Kong Motorcycle Championship are held as part of the various Circuit Hero and Speed Hero races. All drivers and riders who hold valid racing licenses issued by the HKAA may enter. The two championships use the same class system as the Pan Delta races. The top 3 finishers overall are awarded trophies.

In the first race of the HKAA 100th Anniversary Memorial Trophy – Supercar Race 1, the top 3 drivers are #38 Adderly Fong Cheun-Yue, #77 Ma Jia-Jun and #16 Philip Lawrence Kadoorie respectively. In race 2, the top 3 drivers are #38 Adderly Fong, #16 Philip Lawrence Kadoorie and #77 Ma Jia-Jun.

In the HKAA 100th Anniversary Memorial Trophy –Motorcycle Race, the top 3 riders for both races are the same and they are: #59 He Zhi-Feng, #62 Cheung Wai-On and #93 Gideon Lee.

For the HKAA 100th Anniversary Memorial Trophy – Super Touring (2000cc-5000cc) class, the winner is #27 Li Jia-Xi, second is #55 Charles Ng and third place is #13 Eric Lam.

For the HKAA 100th Anniversary Memorial Trophy –Touring Car (Normally Aspirated) class, the race winner is #59 Anson Wong, second is #17 Chung Tak-Ho and third place is Chung Wing-Keung.

For the HKAA 100th Anniversary Memorial Trophy – Stock Car Race, the top 3 finishing pairings are #99 Tang Wai-Shing/Wong Chun-Kwok, #32 Li Zhao-Hua/Tan Hao-Ran and #16 Han Ying-Fu/Zhao Guo-Xiang respectively.

The race organizing committee invited Governor of Hong Kong Automobile Association, Mr. Lawrence Yu to come to Zhuhai International Circuit to award the trophies to the top 3 drivers. Mr. Lawrence Yu expressed his excitement and support for the co-operation between HKAA and Zhuhai International Circuit in organizing the Hong Kong Touring Car Championship incorporating the HKAA 100th Anniversary Memorial Trophy. He hopes both parties can establish a long term partnership. The Hong Kong drivers and riders all express their delight and honour in being able to compete for both Circuit Hero and Hong Kong Touring Car Championships.

Zhuhai International Circuit General Manager Mr. Stewart Tan welcome HKAA into the race event. The co-operation not only helps to celebrate 15th Anniversary of Pan Delta and 100th Anniversary of the HKAA, it also demonstrated the Greater Bay Area spirit, a combination of the advantages of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau regions and a deeper co-operation among the regions.

The next Pan Delta Super Racing Festival – Summer Race will be hled on 15-16 June. It will be another opportunity for the Hong Kong drivers/riders to showcase their talents.
