10 Sep 2013 Red Bull Drift Challenge - Heaven s Road Drift duo meet again

On 14-15 September, Red Bull Drift Challenge Final will be hosted at Zhuhai International Circuit. Drift drivers from China, Japan, Italy etc will be taking part. Among them are the duo who took part in the "Red Bull Heaven's Road Drift Duel", Italian Federico Sceriffo and Hong Kong driver James Tang.

As one the main event of the 2013 Pan Delta Super Racing Festival, the Red Bull Drift Challenge contains 3 rounds, held in Spring, Summer and Autumn. The Autumn Finale will have higher race specification and competition standards. The race is divided into preliminary race, resurrection race and final race. The final will operate as a two car chase. The two cars will alternate to lead and follow, both drivers will have to show their abilities to attack and defend, as well as perform under pressure. It is a direct duel. There are 10 points in each duel and it is to be shared by the two drivers, judges will decide the scale. If the score is 5:5 then an additional race will be required.

The two most eye-catching drivers are undoubtedly Italian mountain drifter Federico Sceriffo and the first Chinese driver to compete in the Japanese D1 Grand Prix, James Tang. In mid-August, the two drivers faced off on the twisty and winding roads at Zhangjiajie's Tian Mun Shan. They had a fantastic battle through the 99 corners before reaching the parking lot at Tian Mun Archway. The race distance was 11 km and a contour change of 1,100m. Over the 99 corners, there were 30 hairpins and 13 sharp corners at cliff side. The two men not just had to drift through the corners, but also showed their technique in speed, angle and flow. Sceriffo won the challenge with 96.5 points. James Tang is now ready for his revenge in Zhuhai.

It is worth mentioning that after the Red Bull Drift Challenge there will be a special motorcycle stunt show. The drift challenge winner will take on the Australian stunt rider, similar to a dance-off, whoever gets the loudest cheer from the crowd will be the winner.
