05 Jul 2016 Circuit Hero Three Qualifying: Lou Wei-Qi strikes first

At 16:15 on 18 June, the last session on day 1 of the 2016 Pan Delta Summer Race begins. Circuit Hero Three qualifying session starts now. As the most grass root race series in Circuit Hero, this series is known for its low entry threshold and budget, yet highly popular. The cars entered are small engine compact cars such as Honda Fit, Toyota Yaris, Peugeot 206 and Toyota Vitz.

Although the entry threshold is low and the cars are not greatly modified, the entry list still impresses with some big names. Drivers such as “Baldy” He Wei-Hang, Han Ying-Fu, Lin Zhe are veterans of the race track. With limited modifications and engine capacity, these old friends are fighting each other more or less on skills alone.

Qualifying starts and the bright Zhuhai sky has now turned cloudy. The hot weather has relented. The conditions are now very good for motorsports. Good light and not too hot temperature allow tyres to warm up properly. Among the 19 cars entered, only 15 are taking part. The other cars will have to start from the back if they want to race tomorrow.

Qualifying finishes smoothly. Lou Wei-Qi takes pole position with 1:59.528, veteran Huang Guo-Quan is second with 1:59.555. Lin Shu-Ming is third with 2:01.479.
