09 Oct 2014 Circuit Hero One Race 2: Robert Buchheit wins
In Circuit Hero One race 1 yesterday, Li Qing-Xin had a great effort but unfortunately retired from the race, leaving behind a very good impression. Today Li is ready to go again, can he achieve what he failed yesterday?
On 21 September, Pan Delta Super Racing Festival will host its last race day of 2014, with many series champions to be decided. At 9:50 am, the first race of the day gets ready as the Circuit Hero One entries enter the track.
Zhang Shan-Qi's Ferrari 458 GT3 is on pole position with Jonathan Flinn's Radical SR1 besides him. Robert Buchheit is third in his Porsche while Scott Miau is in fourth place in his Mercedes.
At the start, Zhang Shan-Qi encounters a problem and Jonathan Flinn also makes a poor getaway. Robert Buchheit thus assumes the lead with Scott Wrayton leading the chase. Scott Miau and Li Qing-Xin are third and fourth. On lap 3, Li Qing-Xin seems to have made a mistake and is passed by three cars and is more than 11 seconds behind the race leader. On lap 4, Jonathan Flinn's Radical SR1 seems to come to grips with the track and begins to accelerate. He speeds past Scott Miau and Scott Wrayton and into second position. But he is 5 seconds behind the race leader, who has just completed a fastest lap of the race: 1:44.416. Robert Buchheit looks set to win this race.
With two laps to go, Robert and his Porsche are still in the lead, with Jonathan closing to two seconds behind him. Li Qing-Xin meanwhile has stopped on track with yet another mechanical problem.
On the last lap, #24 Robert Buchheit and his Porsche 997 are still leading and cross the line to take the win. Jonathan Flinn takes second place while Scott Miau finishes in third place.
Although Li Qing-Xin and Zhang Shan-Qi both retire from the race, the competition is no weaker. Robert Buchheit's lap time is as good as Zhang's Ferrari and Scott Miau had a brilliant move on Scott Wrayton for third place. Circuit Hero One is clearly going from strength to strength.
