24 Jun 2014 Circuit Hero Two B: Internal Rivalry

Following the end of the Circuit Hero Two A race, Circuit Hero Two B racers get on track to prepare for their race. They probably learned something about the track conditions after watching the wet race. Rain, however, has stopped so track conditions could be better.

All Circuit Hero Two B race machines are 1,600cc in engine capacity, so performance level should be similar. With the changable conditions, this could be an exciting race.

Loud supportive cheers can be heard from the grandstand, the drivers respond politely by waving back. As one of the most popular races, the drivers enjoy being the focus of huge crowds which is pleasing for their sponsors, whose logos adorn the cars.

According to yesterday's qualifying result, Liao Yi-Feng is on pole position, Zeng Jian-Wen is in second place, Li Jian-Feng is third. As the race begins, Liao Yi-Feng moves across the track to block Zeng Jian-Wen. At turn 1, all the drivers make it through safely. #78 Wu Zhi-Liang tries to overtake at turn 3 and hits another car, both spin and hit the barrier on the right. His car's front end is damaged but he insists on continuing.

The other competitors are more restrained. The two Toyota Yaris lead and although they are from the same team, they are not above in-team rivalry. #22 Zeng Jian-Wen is keeping Liao Yi-Feng firmly in his sights. Many times he tries to pass but to no avail.  On lap 5, Zeng Jian-Wen pulls off a move down the inside line, but on the next corner he is back on the outside and is passed by Liao Yi-Feng. The two continues to battle on.

For the drivers behind them, they are just mindin their own race. #78 Wu Zhi-Liang is continuing despite the earlier crash and is now in 16th position. On lap 5, Zeng Jian-Wen sets a quick lap: 2:09.093, he passed Liao Yi-Feng on the way and is now leading. He extends his lead a little more by setting another quick lap: 2:08.796. The track has become dry because of the race cars running on it, as a result the cars are going faster and faster.

On the last lap, Zeng Jian-Wen maintains his speed and crosses the line in first place. Liao Yi-Feng tries his best to regain the lead and he almost manages it. In the end he loses by 0.2 second. Third place goes to Liao Xiao-Hong in a VW Polo.
