Professional and passionate motorsport with comprehensive and efficient organization, in addition the participation of celebrities, combined to make the FRD LMP3 series to be successfully staged at Shanghai International Circuit on 30 July 2017. As a brand new race series, staging two races within one month and attract thousands of visitors is an unprecedented achievement.
FRD Motorsport kingdom
The beautiful and aggressive looking LMP3 race cars, the lightweight yet nimble Renault Clios as well as the professional Formula Renaults. The three race series combine to form the FRD LMP3 series. This weekend they brought unprecedented motorsport excitement for Shanghai race fans. FRD's rich motorsport experience is behind these 3 professional race series.
"LMP3 is directly connected to the 24 Hours of Le Mans race. It represents the highest point in Chinese motorsport today. Asian Formula Renault is the best platform for nurturing young drivers. Clio Cup connects the fans, it represents the majority in Chinese motorsports." Zhuhai Formula Racing Development boss Kenneth Ma said. Behind the three race series is FRD's rich professional motorsport experience. From karting to junior formula racing and Le Mans prototype and one make touring car race series. FRD has created a world class motorsport platform for Chinese drivers over the years.
"This race series you see today is not just a simple race. This is the route to the world for Chinese drivers. Asian Formula Renault connects with Renault's Road to Champion. Drivers with good results will have the chance to join the Renault F1 program. LMP3 directly uses Le Mans prototype race cars and connects to the 24 Hours of Le Mans." Kenneth Ma said. For Chinese drivers, this race series is a direct route to the top of the world.
This also makes the FRD LMP3 series a heated battle ground, top class drivers are attracted to the seires and they are all aiming for the top spot.
Professional support
Any professional motorsport series requires a professional support team. FRD has nurtured a professional team that is well versed on race organization. In addition, the race series has outside professional support. The Zhuhai International Circuit (ZIC) team has also joined in the operation of the FRD LMP3 series. ZIC has very rich motorsport organization experience being the organizer and promoter of the Pan Delta Super Racing Festival. Their involvement brings steady and reliable operational support.
ZIC General Manager Mr. Stewart Tan said, "We are very happy to see a high end motorsport series like LMP3 is being organized in China. These cars are very fast and very nice looking. Apart from professional organization team, professional sponsors also bring additional vibrancy to the race series. Giti tyres are the official tyre suppliers for the FRD LMP3 series. They have begun research and development on LMP3 race car tyres since last year. They have spent a lot of effort and finally created a tyre that has won the approval of all the race teams. Giti Tyre (China) Investment Co Ltd marketing department Deputy General Manager Ms. Wang Jing said, "LMP3 is the highest level race series in Chinese motorsports. It has a special meaning for our product research, high end product development and brand promotion. For every race, we provide over 1,500 race tyres to the three different series. On site we have over 20 tyre construction engineers to service the race teams and monitor the tyre conditions. We are very pleased to see the success of the race series."
