11 Oct 2013 2013 Clio Cup China Series Finale to be held in Zhuhai
After a long season, 2013 Clio Cup China Series will hold its finale on 11-13 October, 2013 at Zhuhai International Circuit.
With 8 rounds of racing gone, the Drivers' Championship has been settled. Hong Kong driver Tommy Chan is now leading the field with 232 points for his brilliant performance throughout the season. As per race regulation, the Championship will be calculated towards the 8 best rounds out of 10. Therefore, Kenneth Ma, who is now 2nd in Championship, will not be able to overcome Tommy Chan's tally. Tommy Chan will receive his award after this week's race.
Although the Championship is settled, the race is still going to be a thriller. Several drivers will make their season debut. Hong Kong drivers Kenneth Lau and Yu Kam Cheong will return to the Series in their familiar ground, with fellow Hong Kong driver Benson Wong and Alan Lee joining them as well. Also joining the field is Hu Cheng Wei. The Chinese driver had been supporting young Naomi Schiff for the previous races and he will make his season debut in the finale.
Season regulars will also return. Hong Kong's Byron Tong and China's Huang Yi will battle with Kenneth Ma for the last 2 podium places in the Championship. Ye Xingping and Yang Xu will bring up the field and bring sparkle to the race.
The season finale will commence with practice and qualifying 1 on Friday (11/10). Qualifying 2 and Race 1 will be on Saturday (12/10), while Race 2 and Drivers' Championship Award Ceremony will be held on Sunday morning.
