25 Jan 2013 Formula Renault winter official test second day results

On 25 January 2013, Formula Renault Series continues their official test at Zhuhai International Circuit. PS Racing, Champ Motorsport and ART Motorsport altogether have 7 drivers on track, all preparing for the Pan Delta Super Racing Festival on 16-17 March 2013.

All the drivers have managed to improve their lap times from yesterday, which is very encouraging. No. 10 Japanese driver Yuki Asahara, after going fastest in the previous three sessions, was finally beaten to the fastest time by young Chinese hotshoe Li Zhi Cong in the afternoon on day 2.

But after combining the results from all the sessions, Yuki Asahara still managed to set the fastest time overall. His best lap of 1:36.291 is quick enough for him to qualify on the pole position in last September's Pan Delta Super Racing Festival. Proof positive that all the drivers taking part these two days are seriously trying very hard.

Second fastest is no. 3 Li Zhi Cong, his lap time is 1:36.473 and this is a very outstanding achievement considering that it is over 1.1 second faster than what he maanged the day before. No. 69 Kenneth Low is third fastest with 1:37.024 while no.99 American Pete Olson, driving for PS Racing, posted the fourth fastest time.

Of note is Hong Kong driver no. 82 Leo Wong who made the biggest improvement. On the first day his best time was about 1:42s, but on the second day he improves massively to 1:38.619, setting the fifth fastest time in the process. Sixth and seventh fastest are no. 9 Swiss driver Thomas Luedi and no. 51 Singaporean James Teo respectively.

After two days of intensive testing, the teams and drivers are now feeling ready for the race season ahead. They are now fully aware of their own and their rivals'  abilities. All of them must be rubbing their hands in anticipation of the upcoming Pan Delta Super Racing Festival.
