04 Dec 2012 Michela Cerruti and Valentina Albanese set out to conquer “racing” China

Michela and Valentina will be pairing up to with their Mercedes C63 AMG, 6.3, prepared by Romeo Ferraris, to take part in the 500 km endurance race in Zhuhai, to be held on Sunday 9th December on the 4,300 m. Zhuhai circuit in the province of Guangdong, a few km north of Macau S. A. R..

A special event: this is the first time two “western” girls have taken part in a Chinese race, in a country which is beginning to perceive a woman’s role in a different light. In fact, media interest in the girls’ participation is already very high. And that’s not all. It is the race debut of the Mercedes C63 race car, a very popular, prestigious brand name in China. 

The race, known as “Circuit Hero 500", will see 40 Touring and Grand Touring vehicles on the starting grid with all the promising, young, Chinese women racing drivers and gentlemen drivers from all over South-East Asia at the wheel.

Michela Cerruti:  "I’m happy to be getting back into my old car. Racing with Valentina is a real pleasure, she goes fast and we get on well together. I’m sure we’ll enjoy ourselves. This will be a completely new experience in a country I know nothing about, so I can’t wait to get there and see how everything works over there. Working again with the Romeo Ferraris team is another reason to feel pleased. They’ve always been like a second family to me and we’ve worked extremely well together in the past.”

Valentina Albanese: “It was a pleasure for me to accept Michela’s invitation. We’re friends and this is our first opportunity to race together. This race is an unknown for us all, but I guess we’ll make a very competitive team. The cars are up to it, and.... I know we’ll also have a great time!”

Mario Ferraris: "I’m really looking forward to this new venue. China is continually growing and expanding, so it’ll be interesting to see how the world of Motorsport is developing over there. We’ve already worked with Michela in the past and I am delighted to be working with her once again. We don’t know Valentina quite so well, but she has an excellent reputation and she is certainly fast. It’ll be really interesting to be dealing with an all-women team, in a practically unknown ambience. It’ll be a good chance to promote the Romeo Ferraris label in Asia.”
