21 Sep 2012 Scaling new heights: 2012 Pan Delta Super Racing Fesitval Autumn Race concludes
On 16 Sept 2012, the 2012 Pan Delta Super Racing Fesitval Autumn Race concludes at Zhuhai International Circuit. After two days of exciting racing with Circuit Hero, ZIC Superbike, AFR Series and Audi R8 LMS Cup wooing the attention of 20,000 fans, this year’s Pan Delta Super Racing Fesitval has come to a satisfactory end. With low auto sales and an economic downturn in 2012, Pan Delta has managed to keep up its upward trend, especially within the industry.
Increasing fans involvement
At the guests’ rest area within the paddock, many fans shared their photos, taken during the grid walkabout period, with their families and talked about the drivers and teams that they support. Some of them are die-hard fans of Pan Delta, while some are friends and families of the Circuit Hero races’ drivers. “Not only can we watch our friend race at close range, we can also enter the starting grid and paddock to see how other drivers are doing, this is truly worth it!” Mr. Wu from Guangzhou is a die-hard fan of Sheep General Racing, he has a lot ot say about the paddock experience. “For this race there are also Aaron Kwok and Alex Yoong, all for RMB150, it is great value for money! Alex Yoong, you know who is Alex Yoong, right?” He really knows his motorsport.
Pan Delta has maintained its characteristic of being close to its fans. Apart from providing additional services in the paddock so the fans may have no worries regarding food and drink, it has also begun to provide paddock visits and VIP services for fans, both services have received gradual progress. More and more fans have chosen to buy their tickets and the previous free ticket environment is slowly changing. The spending power of the thousands of fans are beginning to tell.
A development style that closely resembles a Miaohui (Chinese cultural gathering), with exciting races, are the two major concepts that Pan Delta adhere to most fervently. Today it has finally managed to reap its rewards.
New Red Bull initiative
The increased participation from sponsors is another reason why Pan Delta is ahead of other national events. In traditional commercial operations, the sponsor put its banner on the track or the race car, maybe with another exhibition stall in the area near the grandstand to directly sale to fans. Over the years, Pan Delta has gone deeper in its co-operation with its sponsors, borrowing and referencing foreign races’ methods and making significant breakthroughs.
Red Bull is a long term and important partner of Pan Delta. In this race, apart from on site banners and show areas, Pan Delta has also allowed Red Bull direct involvement in the races for even better promotional benefits. Red Bull has implemented the “Red Bull Fastest Lap Awards” for both ZIC Superbike and Circuit Hero II. The cash awards are for the rider/driver who set the fastest single lap time in the races. The awards encourage the rider/driver to perform to their best ability at all times in the race and consequently make the races more spectacular for the fans.
Budweiser at Zhuhai
Apart from Red Bull, Pan Delta welcomes beer company Budweiser as its new sponsor in this race. There is a commercial area in the grandstand area where ice cold Budweiser beers are served. The sign “No driving after drinking” demonstrates beer giant Budweiser’s responsible driving attitude.
Drinking no driving, driving no drinking, nowadays this is not only common sense, but also a criminal offence. Hot racing cars, pretty girls and great beer, the three always go together. With the involvement of Budweiser, fans will enjoy the races more.
With better races and more involvement from sponsors, Pan Delta has bucked the downward trend of national motorsports. This is a victory for concept, execution and every single one of the fans. See you on the third weekends of March, June and September 2013!
