28 Jun 2012 Circuit Hero One Race 2: Real Heroes
After the 42 cars battle of Circuit Hero Two, Circuit Hero One's race cars are on track once more. Although with just 22 cars it is not as numerous, but the cars are more advanced in terms of performance. Wei Chao-Yin's Porsche lines up at the back of the grid due to its failure and subsequent DNF in the first race in the morning.
Before the race, the drivers and the spectators look up to the sky to see if the weather will change. The dark clouds continue to hover and the race cars turn their headlights on.
At the start, Sun Tit-Fan makes a smooth getaway with Kenneth Ma behind him. Lap 1 is completed incident free, as Wei Chao-Yin's Porsche climbs up the order. He is already up to 9th from 20th and catching. On lap 2, Sun continues to lead Ma while Wei is up to 6th place. Wei moves up to fourth on lap 3. The gap between Sun and Wei is now 20 seconds. Can he catch the two leaders? Even if he did catch them, passing them would be another matter altogether.
On lap 4, he gets a little closer and by now the gap among Kenneth Ma, Simon Yam and Wei is just 1 second. On lap 5, Wei Chao-Yin takes hi chance and passes Kenneth Ma down the inside. But Simon Yam ahead of him is very experienced and guards his line very carefully. It won't be easy for Wei to pass.
On lap 7, due to the duo's battle, not only allowing Sun Tit-Fan to move far ahead and build up an almost insurmountable 17 second lead, but also allows the cars behind to close in. The duo also begins to encounter backmarkers and as Simon Yam makes a slight mistake while overtaking, Wei Chao-Yin takes his chance and moves into second! Once ahead, he begins to break clear, but it is already the last lap and there is no way for him to catch and pass Sun.
In the end, Sun Tit-Fan wins his second race of the day without any trouble. Wei Chao-Yin takes second while Simon Yam finishes third.
