On 22 February 2012, the 6th Annual China Autosports Awards was held in Beijing. All the awards were announced after careful consideration by the panel of judges and the internet fans.
In the hotly contested "Motor Sport City of China" category, it was eventually won by Zhuhai. Zhuhai has been the pioneer in motor sport development since the end of the last century. In 1993, the city organized the first China Zhuhai Interport Race and began the history of motor sports in the country. In the 20 years since, Zhuhai has continuously organized motor sport events and has embedded the sport into the city. Zhuhai is the indisputable "Motor Sport City of China".
In addition, Zhuhai International Circuit's General Manager Mr. Stewart Tan won the "Best Business Operator" award for the successful organization of "Pan Delta Super Racing Festival". Mr. Stewart Tan is one of the founders of Zhuhai International Circuit and has been involved in China's national motor sport scene since the 1990s. He is one of the pioneers of Chinese motor sports. Stewart likes to talk about how "one bottle of mineral water brought in 5,000 spectators", the story of how Pan Delta Super Racing Festival is branded as a carnival for the average fan. Today, Pan Delta has its own set of races and a dedicated group of fans. At the third weekend of every March, June and September, the fans know to come to ZIC to enjoy their motor sports.
