13 Nov 2011 6 Hours of Zhuhai: the winners of other categories
In addition to the successful Peugeot 908 in the overall result, the other categories have been confirmed, another 1-2 finish, and even a nice surprise.
LM P2: Signatech Nissan. The duel that pitted the two French teams in the 2nd prototype class, powered by engines from production cars, turned to the advantage of men of Philippe Sinault. A victory in LM P2 (and an eighth place overall for Vernay / Ordonez / Mailleux), was a fitting postscript to the class title won at Petit Le Mans. The OAK Racing Oak-Pescarolo had problems towards the end of the race and finished sixteenth with engine problems.
LM GTE Pro: BMW 1-2. Farfus / Müller led their teammates Priaulx / Alzen, and even entered the top 10 with the eighth and ninth places overall. This is the second win of the season for the Bavarian manufacturer, after the win at the 12 Hours of Sebring in 2011 that opened the ILMC season.
LM GTE Am: Porsche surprise. Solitary representative of Stuttgart in Zhuhai, Proton Competition has honored the legendary strength of the 911 GT3 RSR. Twelfth overall, Lietz / Roda / Ried finished ahead of the Corvette Larbre Competition, the 2011 class champions!
