Neel Jani qualified the Lola Toyota #12 in fifth and first petrol powered LM P1 car on the grid for tomorrow's 6 hours of Zhuhai.
It is the 5th LM P1 'petrol pole' of the season for Nicolas Prost and Neel Jani in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup, the third in a row after Silverstone, Road Atlanta and Zhuhai. For Rebellion Racing’s Lola-Toyota cars, it is the 10th pole position of the season in 12 races in both the Le Mans Series and the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup. The team’s strategy helped Neel Jani to avoid traffic during his flying laps, the team released him from the pits during the second half of the qualifying session.
Neel Jani, driver of Lola-Toyota #12 : "After yesterday's test sessions, we have improved the car a lot, even if our pace was already good. I'm really happy to get another « pole position » of petrol LMPs in front of the Oak Racing cars and Factory Aston Martin one. I'm pleased for all the Rebellion Racing team who worked very hard for that. Once again, Michelin have provided us first class service with quick tyres. With Nico (Prost) we will do our best to get a strong result tomorrow at the end of the race and hopefully secure third place in the ILMC LMP1 Teams’ championship for REBELLION Racing".
The start of the 6 Hours of Zhuhai will be tomorrow, Sunday 13th November at 11:00 local time (3:00am UK).. Click here for more information on the final race of the ILMC 2011.
