10 Nov 2011 6 Heures of Zhuhai : The challengers of LM GTE Am.
Photo : BRASELTON (GEORGIA, USA), ROAD ATLANTA, PETIT LE MANS, RACE, 1st OCT 2011. Winners of the LM GTE Am at Petit Le Mans, Tracy Krohn, Nic Jönsson and Michele Rugolo occupy the coveted second place in the standings in the category.
For the Zhuhai 6 Hours, the last round of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup 2011, four teams prepare to compete for second place in the final team ranking in the LM GTE Am class.
This category allows only one professional driver per crew, and GT cars at least 1 year old. There are four cars covered by twelve points: Krohn Racing (Ferrari F430 GT #57), AF Corse (Ferrari F340 GT #61), CRS Racing (Ferrari F430 GT #62). Facing these three representatives of the Prancing Horse is the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR (#63) of Proton Competition that benefits from the presence of factory driver Richard Lietz. Note that Gulf AMR Middle East with the Aston Martin Vantage (#60) is the sixth car in the LM GTE Am class, who announced a few days ago that they are moving into prototypes (LM P2) for the World Endurance Championship 2012 (read here).
Larbre, who took the title after Petit Le Mans, still intend complete his great season with a victory. Thus, the Corvette (#50) receives a reinforcement of Olivier Beretta, works driver of the American marque, who joins Julien Canal and Patrick Bornhauser. Between the champion of the LM GTE Am and four challengers, the fight promises to be as hotly contested as in the prototype classes (LM P1 and LM P2) and LM GTE Pro. What better to bolster the growing reputation of the Endurance China, upon which the bodies of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest and Stewart Tan, General Manager of Zhuhai International Circuit (ZIC), have such high hopes for the future ...
The Zhuhai 6 hours will be on the 13th November.
