Everytime GT Challenge is held at Audi Pan Delta, it arouses the most enthusiasm from the crowds. To be able to see Porsches, Ferraris and Lamborghinis racing on the track with their own eyes, is a reminder of every men's childhood dream. In order to make the race more attractive, the starting grids of the two races of the weekend will base on results from two different qualifying sessions, instead of the second race grid being determined by race one results.

In the first qualifying session, Siu Yuk-Lung and Michael Choi, the two Lamborghini drivers, took up the first two places, with Byron Tong's Ferrari F430 GT3 in third place. As the race uses a rolling start, all the drivers shape up to make a move at the last corner of the warm up lap, trying to gain an advantage, especially Michael Choi who wants to get the jump on Siu Yuk-Lung. At the first corner, his tactic works and he successfully passes Siu Yuk-Lung for the lead.

At the end of lap 1, Michael Choi extends his lead to 0.9 second and the race begins to settle down. Third placed Byron Tong over-speeds and runs into a sand trap, losing him a lot of time. The race lead is now a straight battle between Michael Choi and Siu Yuk-Lung. After the leading duo, Eddie Yau Jr. and Billy Fung fight over third place, a direct confrontation between Porsche and Lamborghini.

In the middle stage of the race, leader Michael Choi gets faster and faster and builds up a 10 second lead. In the battle for third place, Porsche driver Eddie Yau Jr. overcomes Billy Fung and has a 20 second advantage.

With everyone thinking that's how the race will end, second placed Siu Yuk-Lung suddenly slows down and is passed by Eddie Yau Jr. with just 2 laps to go.

In the end, Michael Choi successfully wins the first race in 2011 GT Challenge. Eddie Yau Jr finishes second with pole winner Siu Yuk-Lung in third place.
