At 3 o’clock this afternoon, the race one for the Clio Cup China Series started in earnest. In the first lap due to a vehicle problem, Oliver Lee lost his leadership and dropped to the 7th place. Allowing a good opportunity for Steve Elmes to seize the first position and holding onto it for the rest of the race.
Regardless of losing his pole superiority in the 1st lap, Oliver Lee never gave up and kept on fighting to stay in the race. He managed to take 2nd place in the 6th lap, and even managed to surpass Steve at one moment, but couldn’t hold onto it. He held onto the second place postion until the end of the race. Yu Kam Cheong had a crash in the 1st lap, with the right side dashed against a wall, but this did not stop him from driving and he fought to stay on the race.
The most dramatic performance was that of Frank Yu Siu Fung. Though he started at last position, he did his best to fight for a better position. Finally, he climbed to the 4th position in the 5th lap and had a fierce competition for the 3rd with Eric Lo, with both nearly colliding in the 7th lap.
