At 3:55 on 10th December 2010, ZIC Superbike Championship’s first qualifying session began at Zhuhai International Circuit. Today is cloudy, cool and dry, without any rain.
There are nine motorbikes entered for this race. Among them five are in the highest CL1 class, while both CL2 and CL3 classes have 2 bikes each.
At the early stages of qualifying, no. 71 Dan Kruger set a 1:41.289 to get the ball rolling. No. 62 Kwan Ying-Ho followed with a 1:42.526. Third was no. 89 Steven Hallam with a 1:46.902.
In the later stage, Dan Kruger improved to 1:40.476, while Kwan Ying-Ho also got himself up to 1:41.818. Steven Hallam also improved to 1:46.754. In CL3, no. 72 Xu Wei-Lang was fastest with 1:46.767. In CL2, Guan Shun-Xi was fastest with a 1:48.452. That situation was maintained to the end of the session.
On Saturday, at 9:30 in the morning, the second qualifying session was held. No. 62 Guan Ying-Hao went fastest with a 1:42.682, while no.47 Nick Winthrope was second with a 1:45.309. Dan Kruger, the fastest man on Friday, did not take part.
In the combined results, no. 71 Dan Kruger managed to take pole position. Second is Kwan Ying-Ho and third is Nick Winthrope. Fourth is Steven Hallam. In CL3 class and CL2 class, no. 72 Xu Wei-Lang and no. 77 Li Yao-Ling are the fastest and will start from fifth and eighth places respectively.
