11 Dec 2010 Circuit Hero 500km Endurance Race - Qualifying

Nine cars have entered this interesting and exciting Circuit Hero 500km Endurance Race. Among them, apart from the familiar Swift, Tiida and Civics, a Caterham and a Radical have also been entered. These are specially crafted race machines.

Weather today is very cool, temperature is 21 degree C and the sky is cloudy. It is ideal for race drivers with their fireproof overalls, but the race cars’ tyres may take sometime to warm up to their working temperatures.

No.7 William E O’Brien spent sometime on the track before finally managing the fastest lap, 1:47.106. His class B rival, no. 26 Tang You-Xi will line up alongside him on the grid, merely 0.633 behind. The two teams look set for a great battle in tomorrow’s race.

Chen Wei-Liang, driving the no.2 Radical in the open class, runs a series of fast laps before finally settling on 1:50.292. He will start the race from third place on the grid.

In class A, 3 cars enjoy similar performance. No. 1 Zhang Han-Biao, no.3 Sun Zheng and no. 8 Zhou Zhi-Rong. Their lap times are 1:52.844, 1:52.854 and 1:55.384 respectively. Considering the closeness of their lap times, a big battle can be expected.

Finally, in class C, where the horsepower is the smallest, no. 16 Ma Jian’s Tiida and no. 6 Hu Tie-Biao’s Swift managed 2:08.674 and 2:24.480 respectively and will line up in 7th and 9th places.
