  • 12:00: Here we go! Franck Montagny started from pole position at the wheel of the Peugeot 908 #2. He beat his teammate Sebastien Bourdais, and the two Audi R15 of Tom Kristensen and Dindo Capello.
  • 12:10: The gaps are widening. Audi is 5 seconds from the second Peugeot.
  • 12:15: The two Audis catching up. After the superb pass of Dindo Capello on Sebastien Bourdais. Tom Kristensen tried to pass too, but could not.

  • 12:48 Tom Kristensen is back on Bourdais-Capello fight. The chasing group is 7 seconds from Franck Montagny.
  • 12:50: Dindo Capello makes first pit stop.
  • 12:51: Next is Tom Kristensen. Peugeot more economical than the Audi?
  • 12:52: Pit stop for leader Franck Montagny.
  • 12:54: Andrew Kirkaldy passes Jörg Müller.
  • 12:55: Sebastien Bourdais, known for his smooth driving, is the last of the leading group to stop. He leaves in the lead! The other two Audi and Peugeot are 7, 8 and 9 seconds from the new leader.
