Things always come on threes. The third and final free practice session was again marked by rain. In these circumstances, nobody wanted to take risks and most competitors were content to take it gently.

Paul Drayson, made a small exit from the circuit in his Lola Judd, and became stuck in a gravel trap. Stéphane Sarrazin in the #2 Peugeot 908 HDi FAP was fastest ahead of Tom Kristensen in the #7 Audi R15 TDI. In GT2, it was Gimmi Bruni in #95 AF Corse Ferrari F430 who had the best performance of the session.

The conditions will probably not improve for qualifying sessions to be held from 14:30 to 14:50 for GT (6:30 to 6:50 UK) and 3:00 p.m. to 3:20 p.m. for prototypes (7:00 to 7:20 UK).

The start of 1 000 km of Zhuhai will be on Sunday at 4 am (UK time).
