To date, Audi have not met with the same success in the Intercontinental Cup as at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where they achieved a resounding triple finish in June. At the 1000km Silverstone, on the 12th of September and at Petit Le Mans (2nd of October), they had to settle for podium place behind their rivals from Peugeot. However, since June, German engineers have further developed the prototype in order to give more downforce on tight circuits. These efforts seem to have paid off since the R15 TDIs were very fast in the UK and the USA, but at each race a problem has thwarted them; a mechanical failure, a minor incident and even a helmet problem, has prevented them from fighting to the finish. In Zhuhai, the German team will want to finish the season on a high note, especially since China is an important market for Audi as manufacturer, having recently sold its millionth vehicle there, a record!

The Zhuhai 1000km will be held from November 5th to 7th.
