17 Sep 2016 Circuit Hero-One qualifying: Guo Guo-Xin enjoys absolute advantage
On Saturday 17 September 2016, Pan Delta Circuit Hero-One qualifying session is held at 9:55. The 30 minutes session ends with Guo Guo-Xin on top of the pile with 1:38.463. Huang Xi-Zhan is second with 1:41.805 while Liu Peng finishes third with 1:43.090.
As the race concerns the destiny of the series championship, this race is particularly important to Guo Guo-Xin, who is second in the points table. At the moment Liu Peng’s Audi is clearly not as fast as Guo Guo-Xin’s SLS, but there is only 4 points between the two drivers. Points leader John Shen, 6 points ahead of Guo Guo-Xin, is missing this race. So all Guo Guo-Xin seemingly needs to do is finish the race in order to take the title.
Circuit Hero-One is the fastest class in the Circuit Hero series. The cars are the fastest and coolest, including such as Mercedes SLS GT3, Porsche 911 GT3, Audi R8 GT3 and many others. Guo Guo-Xin is the dominant force, having won 4 races out of 3 in previous rounds, his only black spot being the second race in which he had a small accident and retired. That allows John Shen to be ahead on points, but John’s absence means Guo Guo-Xin is facing more or less an empty goal. But anything can happen in a race situation, so nobody can say for sure that Guo Guo-Xin will be the champion. Liu Peng is definitely not going to give up without a fight.
The weather situation is fine in Zhuhai this weekend. The temperature is on the high side with bright sunshine. This is not easy for drivers and they will have to work hard to overcome them. Also, since this is the final race of the season, there are a lot of fans on hand to lend their support. Many of them are already in the grandstand for qualifying. A lot of cars are already queueing for the car park, with fans eager to come to the race. With a grandstand full of fans, it will surely ignite the drivers’ ambition. They will undoubtedly turn on their best form for the race.
