From the first ever motor racing circuit was built in the United Kingdom in 1907 till now, circuits have gradually developed into the cradle of motorsport culture and the capstone for auto industry development. Today, 110 years later, the first international standard grade 3 circuit in central China - Zhengzhou International Circuit officially commences work, taking the central China motorsport culture and auto industry into an entirely new era.

In the morning of 8th March, Zhengzhou International Auto Park, central China's only international grade 3 circuit - "Zhengzhou International Circuit" ground breaking ceremony is held at the junction between Nan San Wan and Peng Cheng Da Road, the site of Zhengzhou International Circuit. Central area's auto culture and tourism era officially begins. Auto Culture and Tourism will be the driving force behind the central area's auto industry development. An important step has been made.

Ltd of Minerals Deputy General Manager Mr. Wu Jian-Guo, The 23rd Metallurgival Construction Group Co. Ltd of Minerals General Manager Mr. Li Xiap-Xiong and other guests attended the ceremony.

Henan Tican Bo Tai Auto Industry Park Co Ltd General Manager Mr. Liu Han-Peng stated at the ceremony, "The construction of Zhengzhou International Circuit, means that this central Chinese city of Zhengzhou, which has a catchment of 400 million people nearby, once again steps to the front of cultural development in central China. Zhengzhou International Auto Park will use this opportunity to carry the central China circuit racing flag and take up the responsibility of developing central China motorsport culture, carrying the dream of organizing high calibre circuit racing.  At the same time, the project will depend on auto culture and tourism, auto industry and service facilities as its three main pillars. Unique and new auto experience model will push central China's auto industry to expand its scale, develop central China's auto industry culture and sport and help the city's economical and cultural development."

During the preparation phase of Zhengzhou International Circuit, national motorsport pioneer - Zhuhai International Circuit acted as consultants and provided a lot of support and help to Zhengzhou International Circuit. Zhuhai International Circuit Board Director Mr. Jenkins Zhan said at the opening ceremony, "From planning to design to FIA approval, Zhengzhou International Circuit took the shortest time ever for a circuit in China. The professionalism was approved by FIA. At the same time, the circuit's multi-modal design and multi-functionality, provides the basis and guarantee for bringing in various race events. I believe Zhengzhou International Circuit's construction will largely expand central China's motorsport development. At the same time, the co-operation between Zhuhai and Zhengzhou circuits, surely will allow this circuit to show its unique charm and build a great future.

Zhengzhou International Circuit is planned and developed by Australian MTrack Consultant Co Ltd's Mr. Michael Arthur McDonough. He previously designed the Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne, Singapore F1 Circuit and Zhuhai International Circuit. He came personally to Zhengzhou to witness the ground breaking ceremony. He said, "Zhengzhou International Circuit's construction will bring passion and vitality to  Zhengzhou. Permanent circuit, short circuit, drift circuit, street circuit, multiple and flexible combinations, will satisfy the needs for racing and driver training for the entire year. A challenging driving experience for drivers and a festival of speed and passion for the spectators."

In the future, thousands of spectators, national and international media will enhance Zhengzhou International Circuit's influence. Therefore, whether from the angle of race challenge, spectator experience, or city economic development, Zhengzhou International Circuit will bring unprecedented experience and development to Zhengzhou.

An international circuit is a huge project. It requires many engineers and workers' efforts.

The 23rd Metallurgival Construction Group Co. Ltd of Minerals General Manager Mr. Li Xiao-Xiong, as the representative of the Zhengzhou International Circuit engineering work provider said, "This project is not just a racing circuit, it is an establishment of a city's image. It will be of the highest standard and quality, to guarantee the project's safety, quality and progress."

At 10:30 am, after a brilliant fireworks display, Mr. Liu Hai-Zhou, Mr. Liu Han-Peng, Mr. Jenkins Zhan, Mr. Stewart Tan, Mr. Michael Arthur McDonough, Mr. Wu Jian-Guo and Mr. Li Xiao-Xiong as witnesses, Board Director Mr. Liu Guang-Chao announced the work officially begins on Zhengzhou International Circuit. Machines begin pulling into the site. As the void for motorsport in central China is being filled, Zhengzhou's development will usher in a new era for the city and the area.

From the first motor racing circuit was built in Brooklands, United Kingdom in 1907, to the construction of Zhengzhou International Circuit in 2017, over the last 110 years, motor racing circuits have contributed tremendously to motorsport culture and auto industry. Zhengzhou International Circuit as the first international grade 3 circuit in central China, its important is more than just a racing circuit, it will also promote motorsport culture and central China's economicdevelopment.
