05 Jul 2016 Circuit Hero Two - Qualifying: Chen Bing-Xiong takes pole position

On 18 June at 15:15, Circuit Hero Two vehicles appear on track for their qualifying session.  As the entries are as many as 43 cars, the race organizers have divided the cars into two groups, each group having its own 20 minutes qualifying session. This way the drivers will be able to better showcase their speeds and abilities.

The first session comprises of the machines with the bigger engines. The first group on track are the A1 and A2 classes. They are the powerful ones and usually wind up winning the race overall.

In the A1 and A2 classes, cars such as SEAT, Scirocco, Audi TT, Golf GTI, Subaru BRZ are entered. They are all highly modified and some of them spend nearly RMB2 million on modifications. But for today s qualifying session, that particular car is not on track, probably due to problems from yesterday s practice.

The drivers in these two classes are very high standard, such as Chen Zhong, Kuang Can-Wei, Liu Peng etc. Their fastest lap can reach 1:46-47 which is very fast for touring cars.

At the end, Subaru BRZ driver Chen Bing-Xiong takes pole position with a 1:47.062. Chen Zhong is second on the grid with a lap of 1:47.727 which Che Liang and Ding Shan are third and fourth.

In the Pan Delta Spring Race, Xiao Jia-Wei drove his GTI and recorded a 1:46 lap. Today his car hit trouble and could not qualify. But if his team works hard on the repairs, it is very likely that he will race. With the huge number of entries he may not be able to win. But with his incredible speed he should be able to make a very good run for it. Let s see what happens tomorrow.
