26 Sep 2015 Circuit Hero One Race 2: Undefeated hero

On 20 September 2015, the final races of the 2015 Pan Delta racing season will all be held today. The first race on track is Circuit Hero One. Yesterday the two Ferrari 458s failed to make any serious challenge to the Mercedes SLS. Guo Guo-Xin therefore have won all 5 races outright this seaon. Can he complete the set?

Guo Guo-Xin's Mercedes SLS once again starts on pole position, Sam Lok's Ferrari 458 is in second place. Tommy Chan is third in his Radical SR1. Zhang Guo-Hao is in third place in his Mitsubishi. At the start, the Mercedes SLS is again slow, while Sam Lok has not got away cleanly either. The Mitsubishi and Radical thus lead the race with the Mercedes and Ferrari chasing. After half a lap, Sam Lok leads the race in his Ferrari 458 and the Mercedes SLS is up to fifth place. At this moment, #3 Lu Ji-Zu's race car goes straight on at a corner without losing speed and hit the wall. The front of the car sustains a lot of damage and the driver quickly gets out. The marshals move in to move the car away. The race officials releases the safety car, just as they did yesterday.

Lap 5, the safety car returns to the pits and race begins again. The Ferrari of Sam Lok leads but the Mercedes SLS is right behind him after the main straight. Half a lap later, Guo Guo-Xin tries to pass but Sam Lok defends well. But still the Mercedes has superior speed and he finally passes Sam Lok at turn 11. Six wins out of six looks like is a real possibility now.

On lap 7, Guo Guo-Xin leads Sam Lok by 4 seconds and the gap is growing. Final lap, #91 loses control and runs off into the sand trap, meaning the driver has to retire from the race on the last lap. Finally, Guo Guo-Xin takes his sixth win of the year to complete a perfect season. Sam Lok takes second place again as he did yesterday. Tommy Chan takes third place overall and is the Open A class winner, beating class champion Jon Flinn twice this weekend.

Guo Guo-Xin said yesterday he wanted to win all six races and he has done it. "I have been happy taking part in this race series, especially after wining all six races. Compared with GT races, Circuit Hero One has more varied entries and there are a lot of exchanges among drivers. My skills have improved since I started racing here. For me, overall, the 2015 Pan Delta season is perfect."

Sam Lok said, "I am also a participant of the Ferrari Challenge. The biggest difference between that series and Circuit Hero is that there are many different car types in this race, that makes it more challenging. I am already planning to enter next year's Pan Delta series."

Third place finisher and Open A class winner Tommy Chan is still very excited. "Today I did not start well but then the safety car came on. I pushed hard and got up to fifth. On the last lap the cars in front hit some backmarkers and that gave me the chance to pass. We were still running very close after that. We were trying to outbrake each other in the last few corners, especially T14. I tried with all my might and the brakes worked wonderfully, allowing me to win just by a small margin. The race was really really exciting. I plan to upgrade both the race car and my own skills to challenge the champion."
