17 Jun 2019 Pan Delta Heat Wave chase away the forecasted downpour – 2019 Pan Delta Summer Race Closes

On 15-16 June, 2019 Pan Delta Super Racing Festival – Summer Race is successfully completed at Zhuhai International Circuit. Apart from the featured races Speed Hero, Circuit Hero, Circuit Hero-One, Circuit Hero-Two and Circuit Hero-Three, the support races Asia Formula Renault Series, MINI Challenge Asia, Renault Clio Cup Asia Series and 2019 Ducati China Panigale Cup have also joined the event. The high standard and spectacular races brought many highlights to the fans at Zhuhai International Circuit.

When Pan Delta was first created, it was to give the drivers and enthusiasts a safe, fair and just motorsport platform. Hoping that it will provide motorsport fun for participating drivers, allowing more people to take part in the promotion of motorsport culture. Looking at the situation of the Summer Race, even the Circuit Hero race, which has the fewest participants, still has 17 competitors. The supercars provided a great spectacle for the fans. The race also gave the drivers a lot of thrill. Some teams are considering going on to higher level races, using Circuit Hero as a testing platform.

For the slightly lower level Circuit Hero-One, it features the TCR machinery that is so popular worldwide today. The race completes the line up for Pan Delta. For the first time ever, a works team is taking part, taking the race’s entertainment and competition levels to new heights. 

The race with the most number of competitors is Circuit Hero-Two, totaling 41 cars. Most drivers use very similar race cars and the race thus become the showcase for the regional tuning shops. Circuit Hero-Two has always been the mainstay of Pan Delta, taking up the mission of developing Pan Delta.

Circuit Hero-Three is the entry level race series. It is slightly different each race. In order to increase the participation level, the regulation has been in adjustment all the time. For this race, the driver change window is shortened to 15 minutes, greatly increasing the driving time for the second driver and reducing the gap among teams.

In the race on Sunday, FIM Asia Board members arrived at Zhuhai International Circuit to watch the races and presented the prizes for the Speed Hero podium finishers. CAMF deputy secretary and FIM Asia vice president Ms. Gong Hong-Guo stated at an interview that, hosting the FIM Asia Board Meeting in Zhuhai, as well as inviting the FIM Asia Board members to the race, is to introduce the vibrant development of Chinese motorcycle sport to the world. Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) will be held at Zhuhai International Circuit in August and the top riders from Speed Hero will also take part.

Before the Summer Race, consistent rain has been bugging the teams. Although the weather improved for the race weekend, the frequent accidents brought a lot of pressure to the track marshals. Almost every race saw the deployment of the safety car. The track marshals have done great work clearing debris from the track quickly, allowing the races to resume in an orderly manner, as well as providing safe conditions for drivers to compete in. There is one race every 10 minutes and everyone appreciate the high operation standards at Pan Delta.
