12 Aug 2019 Red Hot Competition! | Yamaha MLT Racing Li Zhong takes ZIC Motorbike Race 1 win

A scorching hot day is not enough to dampen the passion of the race fans. The grandstand is filled with spectators and fans since early morning. ZIC Motorbike Race 1 is finally ready to take to the track in the afternoon on 10 August today. At the end, Yamaha MLT Racing #777 Li Zhong takes victory after dominating the race. 

The race officially begins at 16:55 and will run for 10 laps. 38 riders are taking part. At the start, all the riders rush to turn 1 with #777 Li Zhong successfully taking the lead, #47 Zhang Yao passes Yamha MLT Racing star rider #85 Wang Yi-Bo to take second place.

After one lap, #85 Wang Yi-Bo gets on the power on the straight and passes #47 Zhang Yao at turn 9 for second place. After that the two riders continue to fight for position. In the end Wang Yi-Bo successfully defends his position. By this time race leader #777 Li Zhong maintains his lead and sets a 1:57.294 fastest lap and extends his lead by 8 seconds.

After 3 laps, #47 Zhang Yao continues to pursue Wang Yi-Bo, and passes him as he exits turn 12, but he is passed again by Wang Yi-Bo at turn 13. The two riders' battle is red hot.

At half distance, #777 Li Zhong extends his lead to 15 seconds, at the same time his teammate Wang Yi-Bo begins to find form and sets a 1:59.305 personal fastest lap, getting away from #47 Zhang Yao. Later on the front trio begins to encounter backmarkers but as they are very far ahead the delays are inconsequential. Behind them the top 3 of class C are battling hard. #20 Lin Hui, #26 Anson Law and #23 Chen Peng-Ji chase each other hard and try to overtake each other at every corner.

At the last corner on the last lap, another incident happens, #85 Wang Yi-Bo, originally in second place, is surprisingly passed by #47 Zhang Yao and loses second place overall. In the end, the top 3 finishers overall are Yamaha MLT Racing #777 Li Zhong, #47 Zhang Yao and #85 Yamaha MLT Racing star rider Wang Yi-Bo.

In the various classes, in class A Donghe Xiuyuan Speed Ghost Racing #47 Zhang Yao, #5 Xie Liang-Neng and FS.D Racing #6 Zhang Lang

Class B top 3 are Yamaha MLT Racing #777 Li Zhong, FS.D Racing #151 Hu Shu-Shen and FS.D Racing #18 Hu Tong-Ming.

Class C top 3 are Tieren Racing #20 Lin Hui, Tianda TDR300 Factory Racing Team #26 Anson Law and Tieren Racing #23 Chen Peng-Ji.

Class D top 3 are #85 Yamaha MLT Racing star rider Wang Yi-Bo, Ace Motorcycle #45 Wang Jie-Cai and Yamaha MLT Racing #27 Luo Yin-Jun.

After the race, overall and class B winner Li Zhong said, "Thank you to the team and all the staff members. Their hard work helped me win this race. For tomorrow's race I am confident of taking another win."

Second overall and class A winner Zhang Yao said, "For the whole race I did not feel as fast as Wang Yi-Bo, to be able to pass him on the last lap at the last corner was a lucky move. Overall I did not perform consistently in race 1, hopefully I will perform better in race 2."

Third overall and class D winner Yamaha MLT Racing star rider Wang Yi-Bo said, "At the last moment I made a wrong judgement, I relaxed and went slow, that's why I got passes. Actually my stamina was a problem as well, in the first half I expended too much energy. I will seriously review my efforts after the race，I hope to oerform better in race 2."

Fifth overall and class C winner Lin Hui said, "Everyone are closely matched so I focused on consistency. Then I found a weakness in my rival and took victory."

The battle in race 1 is already very fierce and offered a lot of entertainment to the spectators. At 16:40 tomorrow (11 August), ZIC Motorbike Race 2 will commence. Can Yamaha MLT Racing star rider Wang Yi-Bo takes revenge? We will find out then!
