17 Mar 2018 Speed Hero 600cc Race 1 Li Zheng-Peng leads from start to finish, Lin Zhi-Fei wins CL2
At 12:00 noon on 17 March, Pan Delta Speed Hero 600cc Race 1 officially begins. According to the qualifying results from yesterday, the first three starters are CL1 class #26 Li Zheng-Peng, CL2 class #17 Lin Zhi-Fei and CL2 #23 Deng Yuan-Hong.
At the start, pole position starter Li Zheng-Peng quickly pulls away from the other riders, in just one lap he built up a 1.8 seconds advantage. On lap 3, #26 Li Zheng-Peng recorded the fastest lap of the race with a 1:40.319. The gap between him and second place is now 4 seconds. #17 Lin Zhi-Fei runs in second place, with #28 Chow Ho-Wan behind him. #23 Deng Yuan-Hong was down to fourth. The three riders are within striking distances of each other.
Soon the race enters the last lap, #26 Li Zheng-Peng continues to lead and takes the chequered flag. Third placed #28 Chow Ho-Wan continues to pressurize #17 Lin Zhi-Fei, trying to overtake him for overall second place. But Lin Zhi-Fei uses all of his skills to fend him off to take the CL2 class win. Third across the line is #28 Chow Ho-Wan, he also takes second place in CL1 class.
After the race, Li Zheng-Peng said, "This year I am on better form than last year, I feel I have performed to my standards in today's race. I raced all the way on my own rythum, which is quite relaxing. I hope to fight against the 1000cc machinese in tomorrow's second race."
The final result, CL1 class winner is #26 Li Zheng-Peng, second is #28 Chow Ho-Wan, third is #68 Yu Yao-Long; In CL2 class, the top 3 are #17 Lin Zhi-Fei, #23 Deng Yuan-Hong and #98 Mai Zhi-Cong.
