19 Sep 2018 Stewart Tan: Pan Delta’s commercial value is steadily increasing
As the 2018 Pan Delta Super Racing Festival is under threat from Super Typhoon Mangkhut, the race organizers have to cancel the races on Sunday, causing the Pan Delta fans, drivers and teams some regret. But in the race weekend just past, everyone have shown their passion for Pan Delta were undiminished in the face of the super typhoon. With the large scale changes made to the Pan Delta platform in 2018, the platform’s nature and commercial value are both increasing. We have reasons to believe Pan Delta will be more exciting next year!
2018 is a year that has seen a lot of adjustments in Pan Delta regulations, it is also a year in which Pan Delta’s branded races go through high speed developments. For this reason, we have interviewed ZIC General Manager Mr. Stewart Tan, to see what he thinks of Pan Delta’s development this past year.
“In 2018, Pan Delta went through a series of big changes, the excitement of the races and the Pan Delta platform’s commercial value have steadily increased.” Stewart Tan said, “Speed Hero’s IP is beginning to see its effects, Circuit Hero have gained wide approval, many professional drivers and race series are coming to Pan Delta, the platform’s influence is expanding. Pan Delta’s platform value and commercial value are well established. Overall, this year’s Pan Delta changes have been successful.”
Circuit Hero race series is Pan Delta’s own race, it is a regional grassroot race widely praised both locally and internationally by drivers and fans alike. In 2018, Circuit Hero have re-classified its 3 races, introduced one make tyres and an engine oil sponsor. After a year’s operation, the race have made great strides forward.
“Circuit Hero-One have included GT class, the various classes of the race has become more obvious and more competitive. In 2018 the race has attracted many GT drivers and even F1 level drivers to take part. The level of drivers and teams have reached heights it never reached before.” Stewart Tan said, “Circuit Hero-Three originates from a grassroot race, through strict regulation control, hugely reduced the entry threshold by limiting race car modifications, allowing more fans the chance to enter the Pan Delta race system. The driver change model made the race more interesting and at the same time reduced the costs of participation. In the past you must own a race car, now in Circuit Hero-Three, you only need a partner who owns a race car. This model allows race drivers to bring their friends into the race.”
For Circuit Hero-Two race, the top and bottom classes have been taken out. The modification levels of all the race cars are more similar. This has made Circuit Hero-Two the race with the most number of participants in the whole of Pan Delta. Since the race cars and drivers are of similar standard, the competition is very tough. The lap times of most race cars are just tenths apart. “Circuit Hero-Two is now more fun for the drivers and more exciting for the fans. This change achieved the results we expected.”Stewart Tan said.
The other big change for the Circuit Hero race series is the introduction of one make tyres and an engine oil sponsor for teams without engine oil sponsors. “One make tyres regulations greatly reduced the capital costs for participating teams. It also reduced the costs of storing and managing tyres since the tyres are delivered on order. At the same time our tyre supplier Pirelli provides a professional service that includes tyre supply, tyre management and data service. This means our grassroot teams can now enjoy international standard race service, which is good for the teams long term development. For now, the teams are responding positively.” Pan Delta have also provided special engine oil sponsorship for the teams without engine oil sponsors, further reducing their operating costs. At the same time the auto product business gains a quality commercial platform. It is a win-win-win for the teams, race organizers and the business.
Pan Delta is renowned for its numerous spectators, wide reaching media and exciting races. The three add together to form a quality commercial platform. Numerous sponsors and one make races participate actively on this platform, Pan Delta’s own IP creation also makes good strides forward.
“In 2018, Pan Delta reformed ZIC Superbike into Speed Hero race series. After receiving its own IP, the superbike race series received approval from fans and superbike manufacturers/importers approval. It can be said that Speed Hero is the only superbike race series with superior influences. For Pan Delta, this race series also sees the most number of manufacturer/importer participation. This is a clear indication of Speed Hero’s IP value and Pan Delta’s platform value.”Stewart Tan said, “At the same time, Pan Delta is also working hard on its own commercial platform development. Last year, we began the “Circuit Hero Bear”Pan Delta branding plan, using the bear doll as our representative, it has now entered people’s hearts. This year we are developing related merchandize step by step. Pan Delta’s branding is becoming more and more successful, Pan Delta’s festival nature is also increasingly strong. The overall commercial value is greatly increasing with the branding. The large number of professional teams and drivers involvement as well as sponsors and fans support are the results of the Pan Delta brand development.”
Using more professional attitudes to organize more entertaining grassroot races. Pan Delta has become a “Temple Festival” where fans, drivers and sponsors all get what they want in one place. 2018 Pan Delta Super Racing Festival closes under the threat of a super typhoon, leaving us with surprises as well as regrets. But in 2018, Pan Delta has not forgotten its roots and kept working hard for its future. We have reasons to believe that in 2019 Pan Delta will be even more exciting!
