15 Jun 2019 Taking advantage of every available grid position – Circuit Hero-Two qualifying
In the afternoon on 15 June, the competition in the Pan Delta Super Racing Festival – Summer Race heats up. At 16:35 Circuit Hero-Two A1 and A2 class held their qualifying session. The competitors are keen to take advantage of any grid position improvements that they can get. In the end, #9 Rao Long set the fastest lap time of 1:48.604 to take pole position. TPR Racing #66 Wu Wen-Fa finishes second, 13Racing Full Bore Engine Oil Racing #77 Xie Zheng-Ge finishes third and Jack’s Racing 17 Zhong De-Hao will start from fourth position.
The weather is fine and the drivers are back to their best conditions. In the A1 class qualifying, #9 Rao Long kicks off with a 1:49.716 seconds lap, then he improves to 1:48.604. Race favourite TPR Racing #66 Wu Wen-Fa makes a mistake and is stuck in the gravel at turn 7. The race officials shows the red flag to stop the session. Wu Wen-Fa in the end has to settle for second position on the grid with a 1:49.824 lap.
In A2 class there are strong competitors too. Jack’s Racing #17 Zhong De-Hao performs a 1:50.988 fastest lap to lead the class. He will eventually starts the race from the second row.
After combining the results of the two sessions, the first row of the starting grid for the race will be occupied by #9 Rao Long and TPR Racing #66 Wu Wen-Fa; on the second row are 13 Racing Full Bore Engine Oil Racing #77 Xie Zheng-Ge and Jack’s Racing #17 Zhong De-Hao. On row three are #59 Anson Wong and #7 Zhong Yong-Qiang. For the fourth row we will see Foshan Xiongji Racing #36 Chen Bing-Xiong and 13 Racing Full Bore Engine Oil Racing #86 Zhuang Xue-Fu.
Tomorrow (16 June), Pan Delta Super Racing Festival Summer Race Circuit Hero-Two Round 2 will be held at 15:20 at Zhuhai International Circuit. According to the weather forecast, there will be rain. Will the drivers be able to turn their hard earned grid positions into a podium finish? We will find out in the race!
