19 Sep 2020 Wet track and numerous red flags, Li Qiang-Xin and Wu Wen-Fa takes ZMA Touring Car Race class A and B pole positions respectively

On 19 September, 2020 Zhuhai Motorsports Association Club Race welcomes ZMA Touring Car class A and B qualifying sessions. Due to influence of a nearby typhoon, the two sessions are postponed to 14:30. The wet track provides a big challenge for the drivers, numerous red flags were shown. In the end, Team KRC #11 Li Qiang-Xin and Fu Chang TPR Racing #22 Wu Wen-Fa took pole position for class A and class B respectively.

First on track is class A qualifying, with 12 drivers taking part. After a few warm up laps, Team KRC #11 Li Qiang-Xin sets a 1:54.588 to take provisional pole position. At mid-session, 3 drivers have already broken under the 2 minute mark. STS Motorsport Crew #86 Chen Yi-Nian and Tianshi Racing #8 Liang Yong-chao are second and third respectively. In the last two minutes, STS Motorsport Crew #28 Yang Bai-Jie manages a 1:54.650 to move to second overall. After that #86 Chen Yi-Nian runs off track into the gravel. The race officials show the red flag and qualifying is over. In the end, #11 Li Qiang-Xin takes pole position for the ZMA Touring Car Race class A. #28 Yang Bai-Jie and #86 Chen Yi-Nian are second and third respectively.

Afterwards it is B1/B2 qualifying, with 10 drivers taking part. The session starts at 15:10. Fu Chang TPR Racing #22 Wu Wen-Fa sets the ball rolling with a 2:02.477. At mid-session, #99 runs off the circuit at T9, the race officials show the red flag to stop the session. 5 minutes later the session resumes. Foshan Xiongji Racing #36 Chen Bing-Xiong sets an even faster 1:59.812 to be fastest overall. In the last moments, #22 Wu Wen-Fa topples him with a 1:57.560 to reclaim first place. #55 loses control at T14 and runs into the gravel trap, thus ending the B1/B2 qualifying session.

Last on track is the B3/B5/B6 qualifying with 11 drivers joining the fray. At 15:50 the session begins. Just one lap later, #9 loses control at T7 and runs into the gravel. The race officials shows the red flag to stop the session. 5 minutes later the session resumes. But by now the rain has intensified and visibility is hampered. All the drivers struggle on the slippery surface. #12 stops on the main straight after T14. At the same time #3 also loses control and stops sideways at the middle of T4. The race officials show the red flag again. After the session resumes, #10 runs into the gravel at T11 so the red flag is displayed once more. By the time the session resumes, there is only 5 minutes left. But soon #23 spins at T4 while #8 has an engine failure. The red flag is shown for the fourth time and the B3/B5/B6 qualifying session is over. 

Combining the qualifying results, in the end, Fu Chang TPR Racing #22 Wu Wen-Fa takes pole position for ZMA Touring Car class B Race. Foshan Xiongji Racing #36 Chen Bing-Xiong and #77 Lin Xue-Jun are second and third respectively.
