SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Personal Protection

a) Safety Helmets

Helmets must be of the full face type and conform to one of the recognized international standards:

EUROPE  ECE 22-04 & ECE 22-05 ‘P’
USA   SNELL M 2005
JAPAN   JIS T 8133: 2000

Or as approved by a FMN, or a higher standard at the discretion of the Chief Scrutineer during practice and racing.

All helmets must be presented for inspection at scrutineering. The helmet must have a chinstrap type retention system. Visors must be made of a shatterproof material. Helmets constructed with an outer shell of more than one piece are permitted; provide that, in case of emergency, they can be quickly and easily removed from the rider’s head by releasing or cutting the chinstrap.

b) All riders must wear a complete leather suit with additional leather padding or other protection on the principle contact points, knees, elbows, shoulders, hips etc.

c) Linings or undergarments must not be made of a synthetic material which might melt and cause damage to the riders’ skin.

d) All riders must also wear leather gloves and boots, which with the suit provide complete coverage from the neck down.

All protective clothing, leather gloves and boots must be presented at scrutineering.
