2012 ZIC Motorcycle Sporting Regulations Appendix A

1 SHIPPING BETWEEN HONG KONG AND ZHUHAI

1.1 The Organizer will arrange shipping to and from Hong Kong/Zhuhai for those competing bikes that conform to the shipping schedule, which will be issued in the final instructions. Entrants are advised to comply with the schedule, as it is very difficult to make individual arrangements.

1.2 The carriage of gasoline on the lighters whether in fuel tanks or in containers, is prohibited. Any bikes found to be carrying gasoline would be refused transportation.

1.3 The Organizer will arrange Import/Export requirements with the Customs Department for entrants who comply with the shipping schedule. No responsibility will be accepted for vehicles transported by other means.

1.4 Entrants must stipulate, on the Entry Form, whether they will use the Organizer’s shipping facilities. They must also provide the Engine and Chassis numbers for Import/Export documentation.

1.5 The Organizer will not take out Marine Insurance for vehicles.

2. Scrutineering

2.1 All competing bikes will be presented at the appointed time and place for examination by official scrutineers, who may, in their absolute discretion, require any entrant to comply with their request. Any entrant who refuses to comply will be excluded from the race or meeting. The scrutineers will scrutinize the bike for compliance with the regulations and for sound mechanical condition. No competing bike may be driven on the course for official practice until it has passed all phases of scrutineering.

2.2 Any competing bike which is modified after official scrutineering or which is involved in any accident must be presented to the official scrutineers, whose approval must be obtained before the bike is driven for any official practice or race. Breach of this rule will automatically result in exclusion or disqualification.

2.3 A competing bike may be subject to impounding for scrutineering or dismantling after practice or races to ensure conformity with the regulations.

3. Competition Numbers

3.1  All numbers will be allocated before the meeting and must be in position before shipping and scrutineering. The numbers shall be durable and must be shown during practice and racing. The Chief Scrutineer will reject any bike whose numbers do not meet the specifications specified by 3.2 below.

3.2 Number plates must be rectangular in shape being flat or slightly curved with minimum measurements 285mm x 235mm, corners should be rounded.
Minimum dimensions of figures being:
 

Height of Figure  140 mm
Width of Figure 80 mm
Width of Stroke 25 mm
Space between 2 Figures 15 mm

3.3 The colors of plates will be: For all Classes - Black Plate/ White Numbers or as specified in the supplementary regulation of the Class concerned.

3.4 The timekeepers may decline to record the performance of any bike whose competition number is not readily apparent to the lap recorders.

4. Team Identification

4.1 A Team shall consist of the Entrant, his nominated rider and members of the mechanical and timing crews. Only commercial entrant will have the right to claim an entrant pass. Identification will be issued for each competing bike on the following basis: One entrant, one rider, two mechanics and two timing passes.

4.2 Identification must bear the photo of the wearer and will not be issued unless photos, names and identity card or passport numbers are produced.

4.3 Team members may be members of one team only. They will be issued at scrutineering to the entrant, or his representative authorized in writing, when his bike(s) has passed scrutineering.

4.4 Identification must be properly worn. Abuse of the privileges conferred by the issue of identification will result in these privileges being withdrawn completely.

5. Fuel

5.1 Gasoline, 98 Ron Unleaded will be available through ZIC fuel supply station, approved by the Organizing Committee.

5.2 No other fuel or grades of gasoline may be used in practice, or racing. Additives are not permitted except in the case of two stroke engines when oil may be added to the gasoline for lubrication purposes on condition that it does not increase the fuel octane number. Samples of fuel being used by all competitors may be taken before the start, during or at the end of races to verify that the regulations have been strictly observed.

6. Advertising on Bikes

6.1 All bikes will be required to carry Organizer's advertising, 100 sq. cm on both sides of the machine in a conspicuous position must be left for stickers of the meeting sponsor. The provisions of the F.I.M. Code will apply.

6.2 Advertising is permitted, provided that, in the opinion of the Chief Scrutineer, it does not impair the legibility of competition numbers or the safety of the bike, or is not in bad taste. The Chief Scrutineer may refuse to pass a bike until any offending advertisement is removed or obliterated.

6.3 All advertisements must be in position before scrutineering.

6.4 Failure to comply with the above rules will result in exclusion or disqualification.
