12 Mar 2014 Alex Fong Chun Shun to take part in Clio Cup China’s races

The ultra-popular TV-and-movie star Alex Fong Chun Shun, from Hong Kong, has confirmed his participation of 2014 Clio Cup China Series and will take part at the 2014 Pan Delta Super Racing Festival (Spring Race), scheduled on 22-23 March.

Alex Fong Chun Shun (left in above picture) has been well-known as a car enthusiast. He had taken part in several races, including the “Hotel Fortuna Cup” during the prestigious Macau Grand Prix weekend back in 2001. Last year, Alex took part in the “One Foundation Celebrity Race” organized by FRD. While having fun during the event, his enthusiasm towards car racing is re-motivated as he took an offer from FRD’s CEO Kenneth Ma to take part in several days of racing training during winter. After some serious consideration, he decided to take part in races in this year’s Clio Cup China Series, which will kick off at the Pan Delta Super Racing Festival Spring Race on 22-23 March at Zhuhai International Circuit.

Alex Fong will be the second Hong Kong artist to confirm his participation of the series after female star Jacquelin Ch’ng. According to Kenneth Ma, FRD’s founder, apart from the abovementioned artists, several artists also tested the Clio Cup race car and are considering joining the grid as well. With the participation of artists, he hope Clio Cup races can be more popular among audiences and more entertaining, which would further help on promoting motorsport. He hoped that more celebrities will take part in the race and make the race even more glamour and spectacular.

Clio Cup China Series will consist of 10 rounds in 5 places including Zhuhai, Malaysia, Shanghai, Shanghai Tianma and Chengdu.
