27 Jan 2026 Zhong Yongqiang won the first place in the Circuit Hero Super Group Selection Race

On January 17th, 2026 Circuit Hero - Super Group Selection Race was splendidly held at Zhuhai International Circuit. After a fierce competition of "25 minutes + 1 lap", No. 7 driver Zhong Yongqiang from K2C Motorsports, achieved the pole position and won the overall championship. No. 69 driver Lin Zhanpeng from the YOU&ME (Sime) team, followed closely and won the second place. The third place was taken by No. 23 driver Li Baoliang from Ji Shi Racing Team.

Circuit Hero - Super Group Qualifying Session began at 10:40AM. The racers drove their vehicles to compete against each other. Zhong Yong dominated the field, securing the pole position with a time of 1:48.360 and also taking the first place in Group A1. Lin Zhanpeng ranked second overall and first in Group A2. No. 65 Fang Zi from  Weili Racing Team took the third place in the overall ranking. The first place in Group A3 was claimed by Lin Shuming from  Shaanxi Tianshi Racing Team. No. 71 Kuang Runxiong from Gao Weisi Team, won the first place in Group B during the qualifying session.

At 3:30 PM, Circuit Hero - Super Group Selection Race kicked off. During the starting phase, Zhong Yongqiang held the lead and established a lead of over 1 second after the first lap. Lin Zhanpeng and Fang Zi remained in second and third place respectively. Although Zhong Yongqiang was chased by his rivals in the early stages of the race, he quickly widened the gap with the cars behind him thanks to his strong speed. At the halfway point of the race, Zhong Yongqiang had a lead of nearly 12 seconds over his opponents.

The countdown for the race was coming down to the final 10 minutes. Zhong Yongqiang was leading the field effortlessly. Lin Zhanpeng  climbed to the second position overall. Li Baoliang  broken through the pack and ranked among the top three in the race.

Until the chequered flag was shown, Zhong Yongqiang was the first to cross the finish line, winning the overall championship of the Circuit Hero - Super Group Selection Race as well as the A1 Group championship. Lin Zhanpeng took the second place overall, while also winning the A2 Group championship. Li Baoliang finished in third place overall and won the A2 Group championship.

In the team performance, the runner-up of Group A1 was Fang Zi from  Weili Racing Team. The third-place finisher of Group A2 was Zhong Decai from Ji Shi Racing Team. Tao Ye from Shaanxi Tianshi Racing Team won the championship of Group A3. Kuang Runxiong from Gao Weisi Racing Team, Lin Jingfeng from Rydanz Tire - LMracing Team, and Zhou Yongkang from YOU&ME (Simei) Racing Team respectively took the first, second, and third places in Group B.

After the race, the overall champion Zhong Yongqiang reviewed the situation of the selection competition: "Starting from the qualifying race, the condition of the car has been very good. Especially in such a warm winter weather, the performance of the car has been very stable. Thanks to this, I was able to hold the first position after the start. During the race, I chose to follow the rhythm of the cars behind and always controlled the gap with the cars behind. Eventually, I successfully won the championship. I look forward to continuing to bring victories in the main race tomorrow."
